Well, I can’t please everybody, but I got an unkind comment today about my title “Knitting Around”. Yes, I know it’s the title of Elizabeth Zimmermann’s book, and as Meg Swansen said, no one has a copyright on those words. But perhaps it’s best to reconsider my choice. I have just finished reading Jack Kerouac’s book “The Dharma Bums” and am about to get into his all-time classic “On the Road”. At the risk of being unoriginal, I think that title gives the sense that I am observing knitting in my travels. So, that’s where that is!
Hey, everybody, enjoy the day! : )

Beth – I like Knitting on the Road! works for me as a title. It was so great seeing you at MD Sheep & Wool – when you were….on the road(!) OK, I get carried away. All the Best.

Thanks, Peg! Yes, it was great to run into you at the Wool Festival. Happy knitting this summer.

Hi, Beth — I like “Knitting on the Road” too — I associate you with trips, to Knitting Sisters in Williamsburg, to TKGA this summer in Manchester, and so on, so “on the road” seems just right. (And, not to be tedious, I was noticing your comment on the Fair Isle bag that you can knit it in the round, but you will learn more if you knit it flat — so maybe the “Around” title was unexpectedly limiting.) See you in July!

Oh for pete’s sake. I really love how critical people never use their name in the comments. It’s always “anonymous”. I like the new name, though.
I signed up for a knitters’ “convention” in Idaho in September that you’ll be teaching at, and discovered your blog that way. I look forward to meeting you!

Thanks Lorette. However, a friend just reminded me that Knitting on the Road is the name of Nancy Bush’s book! I think our anonymous reader is right–all the good names are taken. I will think on this for awhile…
Anyway I am so excited that you are coming to my class in Idaho–it promises to be a very special event, given the venue and the area and Jennifer’s considerable planning. I have never been to Idaho, so it will be a wonderful adventure!

I’ll preface this by saying that this is the first time i’ve read your blog, just having been asked by someone about the Celtic Dreams sweater i knit and looking up some more information for her. However, you seem to be involved a lot with living traditions and the idea of sharing information, so how about something like “Living Stitches”, which also gives the feeling of a life centered around stitches, or “A Life Worth Knitting”. Neither of these really capture your idea of travels, though… Personally, i don’t know why someone decided to appoint herself blog name police, but I bet you could brainstorm with some friends and find something very ‘you’ if you are worried about it.
